Visit to The Fusilier Museum

Following a very pleasant lunch and much conversation at The Thomas Lloyd pub on Market Square, 16 intrepid Mirthmen braved the cold and wet to visit The Fusilier Museum on Jury Street. This small but very interesting museum relocated from St. Johns House in 2022 and ideally would love more space for its treasure trove of exhibits.

Following an absorbing talk about the history of The Royal Warwickshire Regiment given by a former senior officer, we were given a tour of the building, which houses a fascinating collection of uniforms, weapons and personal memorabilia. We were even shown some rare and very valuable hand-drawn cartoons from the First World War trenches.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the event, and the afternoon passed very quickly. There was so much to see, a second visit by some of the attendees is likely!
